Matcha is a form of stone-ground green tea leaves. It’s thought to have all of the antioxidant benefits of green tea, but in a more concentrated form. In addition to its energy enhancing qualities, matcha is associated with mood regulation, increased metabolism and antioxidant power. It makes a wonderful addition to smoothies (especially if you’re trying to kick the coffee habit).
